I haven’t told you guys this before but I use to be a Psychology student (over a decade ago). The topic of colour psychology has always stuck with me . Its all about how different colours influence our perception and behaviour. This topic was brought up again during the marketing units of my business degree , as you can guess colour psychology is used a lot in branding.
Colour psychology has entered my life once again but in relation to my hijab. An online hijab store called “Hidden pearls” kindly asked me to choose some hijabs to review. I decided to use this as an opportunity to make a change.
Now if you follow me on Instagram you will know that I recently decided to take a career break , which means I get to spend more time with the Little Nut. So anyway, at work we had a colour code and well, I got to the point where I was dressing in those colours even when I wasn’t at work.
The problem is , now that I’m free to wear what I want I’ve suddenly found myself in a bit of a fashion rut. Every time I go shopping it’s always the work wear section that catches my eye.
I’ve decided to put a stop to it . Im saying good bye to Rabia that works at X and hello once again to just Rabia! starting with my hijab.
No more formal black coloured hijabs (unless I want to go for a sophisticated look that is). And hello to latte , midnight blue and purple!
Ok the first two colours are a bit safe , but the point is I couldn’t get away with wearing Latte colour at work . But C’mom guys the purple is putting me out there , it means I am “creative” and “imaginative” and many more “tives” .
By the way I loved the hijabs that Hidden Pearls sent me, so much so i’ll be ordering some more. I love both their chiffon and jersey hijab. The material is great quality and easy to style if you want to create any folds. But I will be reordering mostly because I love the choices of colours available , the range of hijab designs , PLUS UK delivery is only £1.99!
Bye for now guys and thank you to Hidden Pearls for helping me find Rabia again!
What colour do you mostly wear ?
