Zak And His Little Lies

Book Title: Zak And His Little Lies

Author: J.Samia Mair

Recommended for ages 5+

I was pleased to receive this book from Kube Publishing. We got to see the return of  Zak , an adventurous little boy from a previous book title ‘Zak and his good intentions’.

“Zak is on his final warning. If he tells one more lie, however little, he won’t be going to the skate park with Baba and Hana.”

So Here’s What We Thought …

Before I get started , I must say the illustrations by Omar burgess are amazing and certainly grabbed the attention of my Little Nut.

As mentioned in the title , the storyline focuses on the issues of telling lies and its consequences. Even though lying may have felt like the right thing to do at the time, we quickly learn that Zak’s lies were not only causing him harm but others around him.
I love seeing the faith aspect of the story come to light, when Zak comes to a realisation that honesty is the best way forward.

The story poses some interesting questions . It’s a great opportunity for discussions with your little ones around the moral of the story. The fact that the quotes and Hadith mentioned within the story are referenced at the end of the book is awesome . Once again it’s super useful if you want to further explore the importance of truthfulness and the Islamic perspective in more detail.

I would love to see Zak’s tales turn into a series and maybe even a cartoon. We’re happy to add this new book to Little Nuts Islamic book collection , especially because the main character of the book is called Zak too!

Over to you now lovelies!

I would love to know your thoughts on this book and are you familiar with the first story ‘Zak and his good intentions’?

*Zak and his little lies is currently available to purchase from Kube Publishing retailing at £4.99
