Top 5 Baby Buys – September

Welcome to another monthly feature of my Top 5 Baby Buys!

At the end of every month I will review my Top 5 baby products !

(apologies for the late  post my maternity leave has come to end)

For the past few months my Baba has been getting patches of dry skin. We have been back and forth to the doctors and tried different creams which have worked but patches appear elsewhere. Anyhow we have been referred to a skin specialist.

So in the meantime my sister recommended I use this Oilatum cream as she uses it for my nephew (who has eczema). I am worried that my Baba may have eczema too , I have seen my nephew suffer from it since he was a Baba and it’s been heartbreaking just watching him!

So yes having tried it for over a month now I found its good at keeping Baba’s skin smooth and soft but the dry patches are still there. If anything the patches do look less angry (as in not so red). I found the pump really useful especially when your trying to multitask and I am happy to continue to use it till we see the dermatologist.

2.Boots smile kids toothbrush (0-2yrs)

I am a member of boots parent club and received a voucher for a free toothbrush when purchasing my boots baby toothpaste.

Anyhow my 10 month old Baba has 6 baby teeth! So we thought it’s time to start brushing! My favourite thing about this brush is that it has a suction base so it sticks anywhere (very handy)

3. Boots smile kids toothpaste

I think this minty  toothpaste is as good as any other branded toothpaste. Of course I was careful to only use a tiny amount as Baba likes to eat it haha!

4. Snuffle Babe Vapor Rub

Last week we traveled on a  4.5 hour coach journey to Bradford to visit my husband’s family!

Unfortunately Baba caught a cold on the way back! We took him to the doctors just to have him checked out as Baba had a temperature. So this rub really helped to unblock his nose along with the snuffles baby oil vapour .

5.Pampers baby dry size 4

I love Pampers products , my Baba has moved up to size 4. I brought this mega pack which contains 86 nappies! It hasn’t leaked once, it does exactly what it says on the packet it provides “up to 12 hours dryness”.

As always do let me know if you’ve tried out any of these products? I would love to know how you got on with them!

Happy Shopping!

I got some Oilatum from my mum when A. was born, and regret that we stopped using it because we had a massive supply of Johnson’s – we got rid of all once A. started suffering from eczema too! Our GP got us Aveeno, which I love (worked miracles for my hands too).

The only thing I really dislike here are Pampers, we never got on 😉

My ‘baby’ is three so except the ointment I don’t have to use anything else on here. (Woohoo! LOL) But I did use Pampers for my kids, and especially loved the newborn swaddlers. And I feel Aveeno lotion is perfect, especially for winter skin. Mabrook on your baby’s teeth! I hope he’s recovered form the cold.

brushing kids teeth is a ‘nightmare’ good luck with it lol. However i use to let them have at it with a Silicone Gum Brush “Teether” when they were around your kiddos age. they loved those things, and helped clean their teeth too.

Loved reading the post! Try Double base for eczema. It works wonders!
I received the toothbrush voucher from Boots too but I was hesitant how their toothpaste would be …because they are giving free toothbrush on purchasing the paste. I would recommend trying the Mamia Range (nappies) by Aldi. They are awesome and great on the pocket 🙂

ugh eczema! my eldest has seems like nothing works. we’ve been using drops of tea tree oil in his bath and tea tree oil bar soap. Allhumdullilah it’s been one of the better treatments

I love the idea of the suction toothbrush! My just over ones toothbrush always ends up in the oddest places, so this would definitely be a good solution. I don’t think they sell this particular brand in the US so I will have to try and find something comparable. Speaking of toothbrushes, we use an eco friendly type and the bristles aren’t bleached white, so my husband is ALWAYS complaining about how dirty the toothbrush looks, haha 🙂
